Drawing a School Pencil

In this tutorial I will teach you how to draw a school pencil using Adobe Photoshop. The image below shows the result you will get if you follow the tutorial:



Step 1 - Create a new file with ( 400 width x 400 height ), use White for Background color.



Step 2 - Create a new layer from (Layer > new layer)




Step 3 - Draw a rectangle in the center of the file using rectangular marquee tool



Step 4 - Set Foreground color to #FF9600. Fill the rectangle using paint bucket tool.



Step 5 - Draw another rectangle in the center of the last rectangle. Set foreground color to #FFAB33. Fill it using the paint bucket tool.



Step 6 - Create a new layer from layer > new layer



Step 7 -Go to Layer > Layer Style > Gradient Overlay. Click here:



Change the gradient colors to the colors mentioned in the picture by clicking on the cursor on the right or the left.



Step 8 -Draw a rectangle under the last rectangle we made. Fill it using the paint bucket tool.



Draw another two small rectangles in this rectangle and fill them with a blue color.



Step 9 - Make a new layer and name it ( Under Pencil )



Change the order of the layers so that the new arrangement will be like this



Step 10 -Draw a circle and put it in the bottom of the pencil. Fill the circle with red color using the paint bucket tool.



Step 11 -Create a new layer. Now go to the head of the pencil and create another rectangle using the rectangular marquee tool. Set the foreground color to #FFDBA8. Fill the rectangle using the paint bucket tool.



Step 12 - Now go to Edit > Transform > Skew. Move the upper left and right point to the center and make them in one point.



Step 13 - Repeat the last 2 steps but fill the rectangle with black color (#000000)



Step 14 -Now here is the final result:
